This website has been designed to briefly explain just some of the ways in which the therapists at Almega Clinic can help you. If you feel that you would prefer to speak to someone personally about either your particular area of difficulty or the help that Almega offers, please go to our "can I talk to someone?" page or call the telephone number shown above. However, if you would first like to know a little about the different types of therapy practised at Almega, then click on the following questions to see explanations of each: |

The counsellor meets her clients in a private and confidential setting to explore and clarify their particular needs. Maybe there is a particular loss or dissatisfaction in their lives. Sometimes clients don't know what is distressing them but there is just a feeling of "losing the way". The counsellor listens attentively and perceives the difficulties from the client's point of view, helping them to see things more clearly and thereby see a way forward. The counsellor is the means of seeing choice, change or reducing confusion. To find out more about how counselling can help you, please call Mrs Carole Howe on 01342 8323848. |

WHAT
IS PSYCHOTHERAPY?
Psychotherapy is used in conjunction with counselling, when the client's difficulties are more deep-seated. In psychotherapy, the client is helped to uncover something that has happened in the past which is giving trouble in the present. For example, something in a person's past may cause them to experience panic and anxiety attacks. By discovering the original cause, they can begin to rebuild the foundation blocks or repaint the picture. The therapist can help her clients to re-educate their minds and bodies to work in co-operation instead of against each other. To find out more about how psychotherapy can help you, please call Mrs Carole Howe on 01342 832848. |

WHAT
IS MARITAL AND SEXUAL THERAPY?
Personal problems often have a profound effect on the quality life and enjoyment of relationships and create daily stress. Family arguments often lead to depression. People's concentration drops and work suffers. Stress becomes a major contributor to general lack of health and well being, making relaxation impossible. At Almega Clinic, we aim to create an atmosphere where communication can take place both verbally and emotionally. It is a requirement for a healthy relationship to understand what partners like, want and fantasize about, as well as what they dislike, fear or feel anxiety and anger about. Exploring some of these emotions is often easier with guidance. To find out more about how we can help you with either sexual or marital problems, please call Mrs Carole Howe on 01342 832848. |
